Most of us play games from time to time, I know I do. I upgraded to Win XP and now my Sidewinder Force Feedback Pro does not work. I guess that Microcrap did not feel it necessary to provide XP driver support for this device. I play a lot of Battlefield 1942, MOHAA and Unreal T/2003. I need an updated joystick OR gamepad that will allow me to fly effectively in flight sims and other games that would require the use of a game controller.

What do you recommend? I am open to all suggestions. If you make a recommendation please let me know about how much the unit costs. Thanks ....

I still use my logitech cyberman2 but it is pretty old. They should make another one like that new.

the Interact Hammer Pad still go'in strong for me after all these years. Also, the original Gravis Xterminator. I'm a sucker for classic SNES-esq pads :)

Although I hardly use them, the two I own seem pretty good:
  • Saitek X45 HOTAS
  • Logitech Wingman Cordless Rumplepad
The only caveat with the X45 is that up until very recently, the drivers for W2K/WXP were universally considered terrible, in absolute contrast to the quality of the stick.

When it comes to Frist Person Shooters like UT2003 all of your best players use a mouse and keyboard. Unfortunately I learned FPS with a SpaceOrb 360(which was the best controller ever), now I can't stand the thought of relearning how to play not using one.

Now you can only get them on ebay

I'm thinking about getting an X45. From what I can see on the Frugalsworld forums, a lot of people are having the same problems that I am (I remember some dude telling me that it would come up months ago). It would seem that the best one is the Cougar, but I am *not* paying $250 for a joystick.

Gravis Gamepad Pro. Perfect for Final Fantasy PC Ported Games and such. Reanimates the Playstation controller beautifully.
