Got to give kudos to Gamers Nexus for catching this:

We know there have been some issues with Vega HBM packaging being slightly different heights. Well this pre-production Powercolor Red Devil RX Vega 64 was completely missing cooler contact on the HBM due to too little paste and the sunken HBM.

Luckily GN contacted them and they’ve fixed it before releasing to market.

Guess the community can occasionally give back to the vendors.

The community always gives back to vendors. It's whether vendors are smart enough to listen to the community.

pretty sucky that QC misses something like this... or they don't care because f*** the consumer for spending their hard-earned money to keep multi-billion dollar industries alive. can't blame the vendors completely though as AMD did not make it easy on them to release products this time around. these products are manufactured in countries where time is money, and no money basically means you die.
