After the addition of network connections and harddrives in the last 2 generations of consoles who honestly didn't see this coming. Kind of ironic with madden being a high profile name and the way EA treats past years editions of thier games.

Posts about consoles belong in the console forum. The title was also flame bait so it has been changed. Warning: Do not tamper with moderator edits-DAPUNISHER

?After purchasing a video game produced by EA Sports titled Madden NFL 2008, and playing the game, I came across many problems in the programming which resulted in the inability to continue gameplay,? wrote Paul of Wildomar, Calif.

What kind of self-respecting gamer writes like that? Be normal and say "I bought Madden 2008, but it blows so much I can't stomach it anymore."

That's why I didn't buy madden for the first time in many years. I told myself that i'd never be fooled again by their marketing super fantastic new feature "x", yet failing to fix the core game. The nfl selling madden an exclusive license set virtual football back a decade.

Seriously, how can they fail to do enough testing to determine that you can't play more than 2-3 seasons of franchise mode? How can they fail to do enough testing to determine that their patch freezes consoles? Their lack of quality control shows a real contempt for their customers. It's evident that they believe that all they have to do is get any product out the door, no matter how crappy it is, since people will buy it, and then buy next year's version in the misguided belief that it fixes the previous bugs.

You know what's funny... This year's Madden is considered all around as the best Madden in years (most likely because they didnt know how APF2k8 was going to be), yet they have all these issues... This is one reason why I stopped playing sports games. You're in a game that claims to be a sports simulator, yet every sports game has stat problems (2k titles are repeat offenders). Also, many dont have the rules 100% correct, even though they've been making these titles for years and years. Their mentality is "eh, we'll fix that next year I guess."

Paying $60 for minor upgrades is just not what I'm about. Give me a fun, arcady title like Homecourt any day... At least with those, I'm not going in with the impression that its going to be "real".

Many disgruntled consumers have posted videos of the above glitches, and others, on YouTube. One video shows the ball soaring through the air and then making a 90 degree turn, midair, into the stands.

LOL, how did that slip past QA?

My last Madden: Madden '93 for SNES. Curse NFL and EA for the exclusivity, it was the worst thing NFL could have done to themselves. It's ironic, they didn't like 2k sports selling the games so cheap, so the result is overpriced shitty games from EA.
