Gamers choice??

Hi:

I am planning to build a gaming based computer soon and am all set (or so I think) to use the XP 2100+ chipset on the A7N8X Deluxe and overclock it. However, I am just wondering if XP is the general option for all gamers or is gaming good on P4 based chipsets as well. If I do buy a P4 system (shudder!! will have to change all my components) .. I will not be able to afford beyond $ 250 for a motherboard + pc combo.

Any advice .. suggestions from previous experiences for you guys ..

well, if you only have $250 for your mobo/proc, you can prolly get the most for your money by going w/ AMD.

you might be able to get a p4 2.4 and a mobo for that, but im not up-to-date on intel mobo price.

You could get an Intel Pentium 4 2.53 GHz and an Abit BH7 for $270. Most people can hit upwards of 3.3 GHz with this combo.

That's if you get a MultiVid C1, get your cpu from outpost.com, thats the current source of good MultiVid C1's.
