Gamepads from the past!?!?

Does anyone know if a company ever made gamepads for the computer modeled after some of our all time classic fav game consols?

I find many resembling the PStation... but are there others?

I've seen something pretty damn cool a while back on The Screen Savers. It was a chip that connected to a usb cord and you installed it in whatever controller you wanted. From what they said, it was very easy to install. Windows has the drivers for it built-in. I looked over at G4, but I couldn't find any archives for TSS, but it is a pretty cool product. I can't remember much about it, except wanting to do it someday.

You can find USB converters for just about any system ever made. Why buy a cheap imitation when you can use the real thing? I personally have a SNES -> USB converter and it works great. Best of all, it requires no special drivers so it works fine under OS X.

That looks kewl. That old square NES thing reminds me of my old master system pad. The genesis pad looks totally different than the european mega drive one, ours is fatter with less buttons :frown: Looks like the batman symbol too. batpad!

Thats the one. Nice find man, I googled it yesterday, but with dialup I loose patience before I get results sometimes, lol. (High speeds coming on the 19th 😀 )

I didn't know there was a site where they sold the modded controllers allready done. $32 dollars isn't too bad for some of them. Its $17 for the modchip, I'd check ebay for the old controllers or gamestop to see if you could get the controller for less than $15, but it's probably worth the $32 to not have to break open a controller.......might be fun though.

You can get USB converters for many different console controllers at Lik-Sang. I use this one with a N64 controller, works fine. I think it ended up being $18-19 after shipping.

Yeah, that is not the original Genesis controller. The original Genesis controller DID look like the Batman sysmbol. I know, I still have it. 😉 And yes, it only had three buttons.
