I want to use an Xbox 360 controller for a few PC games. Is there a special one made specifically for PC use, or will any wired (USB) Xbox 360 controller work?

360 is a Microsoft product, you can bet your a$$ there's full support on Windows for the gamepad, lol.

The "Windows version" is the same as the 360 version, they just changed the product title on the shrink wrapping.

Yeah, I know the 360 is a MS product, but I didn't know if they were evil enough to require you purchase a different version for your PC.

If the PC natively accepts the wired console controller, is there any way to make a wireless 360 controller work with a PC (all I have are wireless 360 controllers)?

I bought a wireless receiver a few weeks back. It's just a cheap knockoff of the one Microsoft was selling a while back, I got it for about $15 I think. It works great.

I've been using a wired 360 controller for my PC for years, and it has worked wonderfully. Only gamepad I ever use.

Not sure what this talk about a "different version for windows" or whatever, but the wired 360 controllers are just USB, and plugging them into the USB port on your Windows PC will instantly have Windows recognize and configure it.

As far as wireless goes, not sure. But wired has worked beautifully since its release.

Wired just hooks right up. Wireless you need the special wireless adapter for it to work.

I use the ps2 controller with an adapter that i bought in a shady chinatown store. :)
ps3 controller also works wired (and wirelessly with a compatible bluetooth card). You just need to dl drivers for it.

Really? I would have thought that it would be bluetooth like the PS3 controller. Only problem is that you have to use those shite MotionJoy drivers to get the PS3 controller to work.
