Man it's really punch in the face for those peeps who bought 780 Ti at full MSRP just right before 970/980 were out.

Fastest performance deterioration ever.

maybe you have not been paying attention to the games released in the last 6 months. Kepler performance has fallen behind. I don't think anybody has doubts.

GTX 980 is 16% faster than R9 290X at 1440p 2x MSAA and 19% faster at 1080p 4x MSAA.

There is a lot of variance between benchmarks from various sites. Maybe few are testing multiplayer and few are testing singleplayer.
