Why does it take this company so long to send a fucking game out? Last time before I received Dead Space, it took them 5 days to send out a game from my queue; even though there was several in my list that were "Available Now". When I emailed them about it, they gave me some bullshit excuse that the titles in my queue were low availability. Since when does Available Now = Low Availability? Now they received my return for Dead Space yesterday, and it's now 8pm on Friday and they haven't sent out anything from my Queue, even though, again, there are several titles that are supposedly available now. The only reason I've stayed on with them is because I get the 10% discount and $5 off every 3 months, but if it's going to continue like this, then fuck them.

I had Gamefly for one month and canceled it. They took almost 2 weeks to send me another game after they had received my prior game.

Just signed up for the 10 day trial thing with Gamefly this past Sunday and I eagerly queued up Tales of Vesperia (which was very dissapointing) and Prototype. Both were shipped Monday and I got Tales on Wednesday and Prototype today (Friday). So yeah, it took Prototype 5 days to ship from FL to NC as First Class mail... I don't know if it's Gamefly that is responsible for the slow shipping or if it's the USPS. If school wasn't about to start in the next few weeks I would probably keep the service because having it come a few days late is well worth it because, well, there is no better alternative. The only other option is Blockbuster, where you have to search through their crappy selection of games (which are always out of stock due to pricks that just rent the game over and over) and have to pay an arm and a leg to rent the damn game for only 5 days.

If you drink a Coke product, sign up for My Coke Rewards. You can get Rent 1 get 1 free coupons for Blockbuster.

Also, you can hold on to a game for 12 days before they charge you for it.

I had gamefly as well and noticed the same thing. They were freaking slooooow. I have heard they have major problems with UPS 'losing' their games.

didn't realize gamefly was that bad. i can't believe netflix doesn't rent games, shipping is one day to and one day from, with often a zero day turnaround.

Move next to one of their distribution centers, problem solved. They only have 4 distro centers and one of them is in SoCal. FTW!

Where do you live? Maybe you are in a weird location where all are far away?

It's not just the slow shipping, it's the fact that they aren't even mailing out the available titles in my queue for several days. Can't blame USPS for that, it's solely gamefly that is slacking on this front.

That happened to me once or twice, but nothing like you are describing. Email them and tell them you are going to cancel? Eh, I guess that only 'works' on the phone, but GF probably doesn't care like cable companies do.

When I used gamefly I only had to deal with long waits for new games in my qeue.

Something that also works well as far as getting games is buying used games or getting good deals and then reselling when you get sick of them. Games like CoD4 have been stuck at around $30 for a while. Bought it, got sick of it, resold it for a bit of profit, got something else.

I love Gamefly.... they are occasionally a little slow shipping the games out, but not as you describe. Luckily I also live relatively close to a distribution center so even if they take awhile to ship out, it only takes 2 business days max to receive.

The cost is well worth the service IMO. I mean, how else can you play new releases for as long as necessary for $16.75 a month? I don't know about Blockbuster, but Hollywood Video is expensive as hell. like $8 for 5 days?

They cancelled my service because too many were lost in the mail. I even had a game out at the time, and I got a notice that I had to return it immediately. Ended up playing an all-night session to finish it, though I wonder what would have happened if it got lost too.

BTW, gamefly has very few distribution centers, so that's part of the reason for the long turn-around times.

Doesn't Gamefly have some sort of tracking system set up through USPS for when games arrive and where? It seems pretty easy to steal their games by just saying it got lost.

I live in Los Angeles and I had two games out at a time and when I sent one back it took them two weeks to send me my next game. That was unacceptable and canceled the service. They sure as hell received it fast but didn't send me one until two weeks later.

I tried gamefly last year in Michigan and had the same problem. It took them two weeks for them to get me a game. Like someone else said, I wish Netflix would get into the business. They would blow gamefly out of the water.

Tried it once years ago.. thought wow this is very slow.. then tried again years later with the promo. 2 months for the price of one...and again wow this is very slow. was a week turn around, shipped back on a friday and received a new one the following friday.
not sure if location played a factor, Central CT area, netflix however had like a 2-3 day turn around

I had GameFly for a couple of months...it was okay. Even though they had a distribution center like three hours down the interstate, it took 2-3 days from when they received my game for me to get a new one. Also, it seemed that every single game that I added to my queue had "Low" availability. Luckily, I was always able to get the games at the top of my queue (since Low means 25%-50% chance to get it), but it just goes to show that they severely skimped on their supply of games.
