Gamecube or not

I currently own a xbox and love it. I use it along with my PC for my gaming needs. But I've noticed that the gamecube is getting very cheap. I've played it before and it seemed like a legit system (ie not just for kids like sony and M$ would like you to believe). Would anybody reject to buying one or are they pretty solid?

$79 for the black friday/zelda deal is awesome. I am resisting the urge though.

1.) I already have a PC and an Xbox. My brother has a PS2 as well, so I have plenty of consoles.
2.) I'm in a minor debt to my parents
3.) There are so many games on PC/Xbox/PS2 I want to play anyway, I wouldn't have time (or in my case, money) for the GCN.
4.) The GCN controller is funky. Very... very weird.
5.) Only a select few games on GCN worth getting.

i say get it, at 79 bucks its really nothing, thats if you work, i'd get it, but my lil bro has it and my big sis has it (reason for 2 in the family is that big sis is in college)

It's not a bad price, but I have an XBox. The only games I would consider on GC are F-Zero GX and Metroid Prime. My friend has it, and those are the only one's that can keep me from realizing how piss poor the controller is. Although I have to contort my fingers for F-Zero.

I would say no. I owned all of them at once, and I only have the Xbox now. Developers are leaving the Cube, and things are not looking good. Games are pretty much all across the systems now. Sure you have a few console specific games, but the majority are on all 3.

I, like you, have an Xbox. With the arrival of Mario Kart Double Dash, it was a no brainer. I picked up a gamecube, 3 extra controllers, a memory card, and MK Double Dash for about $220 at Best Buy (5 gamers coupons, $20 gift certificate, saved $45 off retail prices). It's been great so far, Mario Kart is definitely worth it, I plan on getting some other classic GC games that aren't available on other systems very soon.

It depends on how much you like kiddie games.

I have a GC and Xbox and prefer the Xbox. I've played all GC top game titles and are ok. They kiddiness gets dull though. I ain't 8 years old anymore! 🙂

I like Xbox for its excellent online playability. The Xbox is definitely hitting its stride now!

i'm going through the same debate myself. but i don't really have time to be playing video games so i think i'll have to pass for now, unfortunately. otherwise, go for it.

I want one too.... I'd get Metroid, F-Zero, and Mario Kart

also maybe some of those other Mario/Luigi games that are out... they are pretty cool sometimes.

Get the cube. It is a great little system and it does have non-kiddy games. Plus it's cheap. The controller is funky, but I found that it actually feels quite comfortable in my hands.
