Gameboy's with dead pixels?

My little brother got a DS for christmas and the freaking POS has a stuck on green on the top screen, near the center.... wtf is up with that?

I dont understand how something like this can be allowed to exist in a toy....... how do you explain to a kid what a "manufacturing defect" is?

My big, brick, gray gameboy from 1989 never had any dead pixels :|

My DS has a white pixel, but I just figure I'll exchange it. At least it's not nearly as bad as the defective PSP situation.

And my GBA and GBASP have no screen defects whatsoever, so... meh. Not too concerned.

Poor kid.

The only gameboy I have is the original, nothing will ever compare.

I think the black bricks are better than the gray bricks. They didn't make those for too long, though. Saddening.

I had the original one, but in 6th grade when the pocket ones came out with the better screens, I saved my pennies and upgraded to a silver one.... man I love that thing.... its in mint condition too

7th grade. It really bothers me that he still watches cartoons when I was reading BuisnessWeek in 5th grade..... I guess people mature at different rates

Out of two LCDs, I've two pixels that are stuck. Both are green. Both in the lower left corner.

Manufacturers hope to make an extra buck by foisting defective screens on the public and claiming there is nothing wrong with the screen.

Dead pixels aren't too bad but stuck ones are a PITA because they just stare out at you. Return the damn thing.

If you call Nintendo, they will mail you out a new DS with a return label for the old one.

The big N has a 0-stuck-pixel policy on their hardware - mostly as a marketing ploy against Sony's "We don't care how many pixels are stuck" policy, but take advantage anyway.

The ds uses lcds, and lcds are prone to have dead pixels. What did you expect? Mine has no dead pixels and is as perfect as can be
