Heres the scoop.
GameBox is now running kernel 2.4, it has the ultra DMA 66 and dual CPU support going and it's pretty darn stable. Right now I am morphing Wellkcy's page design to hold adds, and to make it driven by a database. This will take time and it can cause me to reboot the machine when making sure that what I did really did take effect.
So. Here you go. TMR is running UT Standard. It has just the standard maps, and it rotates through game styles and types. The Idea is that you guys can play on it while I work on the server. No stats, but the log files are being saved. I might roll them into GameBox.
So, how does this affect you? Well, for now you will want to play on 24.20.100.130. It also only runs UT at this time.

While I was at ComDex, I was looking for some linux guys/companies to help sponser us with hardware and prizes. My findings have been pretty good. It looks like www.stormlinux.com is really interested in GameBox. We both run the same ideas. They provide a Debian distro with an easy to use installation GUI and administration Tools. They also use a web interface for some of their services.
Anyway, they are pretty much ready to go on providing prizes and helping GameBox out. They have also released a 1U server and it would be very nice to release the public version of GameBox onto that. I'm still talking with them, but After I finish the changes to the web site, we will be ready to start getting the rest of our sponsers going.
The whole idea behind this, is the following:
1. The code I have done is very usable in a GPL form and to be distributed with linux distros.
2. Having more money from ads and sponsers gives us prizes and gives us better hardware for later on.
3. I might be able to take a little bit of pay for the work I have done.
4. With links to both SysOpt and Anandtech, TheGameBox could become as popular as other nice gameing sites.
Anyway. I hope you guys understand that this is actually a really good thing. For both TA/SO and for myself.
As for everything else. You should be able to check out with your browsers 24.20.100.130 and see how the page is coming.
Anyway
