Game Theater XP and Vista

So I installed vista x64 and everything but my sound card works. Im still using the game theater XP, which I'd hate to get rid of it since I love the sound quality.

I did some searching and found out that the company that made the drivers for Hercules got bought out by creative or something.

Does anyone know if there is any hope for this card,
If not then does anyone have recommendations other than getting a X-fi.

The drivers were developed by Cirrus Logic. They have nothing to do with Creative. Cirrus Logic completely dropped support of the CS4630 and CS4624 chipsets years ago and Hercules followed the same route shortly after.

You're thinking of the Sensaura wrapper that the Cirrus Logic drivers used for 3d audio. Sensaura got bought out by Creative. Just as well seeing as they weren't doing crap for years anyway.

Time to retire the Herc GTXP unless you're willing to stick with WinXP. You'll never see support for it under Vista.

I do believe hell has frozed over.

I haven't tried the drivers, but will this weekend with my Fortissimo III. Hopefully, the digital out is working as well.

Maybe there's hope for the TB Santa Cruz as well?

I am as surprised as you are. I just installed it to an old computer and had gone to the site to download the drivers when I saw the newly released Vista drivers. Hopefully they work well. I'll probably test it out this weekend on my Vista computer. Only thing is, I have 2 PCI slots, so have to pick between my TV tuner, the Game Theater XP, or my Firewire card. Tough decision...

Actually had some time this evening, so I took out my TV Tuner (Couldn't get rid of my firewire card, so tv tuner it was). I can confirm that the Game Theater XP drivers installed in Vista Home Premium without any difficulties. In all, installation took probably about 45 seconds. Glad to see they actually released a driver even though they had previously denied one would come out.
