game similar to mario on ps2

I loved mario brothers and the like. But I have to get a gc to play it. I have settled for a ps2.

Can anyone suggest a game for ps (1 of 2) that is similar to mario?

Try Rayman 2: Revolution

One of my favourite games on the PS2.

Jax and Daxter is pretty good.
Ratchet and Clank looks nice.
Sly Cooper is supposedly really well done as well.

Although I haven't played the PS2 version, one of my favorite games on the Dreamcast was MDK2. I'd suggest renting MDK for the PS2 and see what you think. It's three different gameplay styles all in one. What a great game.

I rented Sly Cooper for my 12 year old son. Blockbuster has a week long rental on PS2 games here. Glad we rented, because he finished it in 5 days. He had a blast, great game mechanics and graphics. But very linear, not much replay value.

That's what I've heard. Great game, and well produced, but very short.
