Game play slows down on my new laptop...

Hey guys,

I got my new laptop today (Acer Aspire 3023WLMi) for christmas and I installed FIFA 2006 onto it and whenever I start playing a game on it, after about a minute or so the gameplay slows down to about half the speed but the sound is still fine, then if I minimise the game and come back to it a minute later, the problem is gone but then comes back after a few minutes. I've installed the graphics drivers found on Acer.com and that didn't work and also tried the Omega drivers which at first I thought had worked but then I started experiencing the same problem. I've also tried both the Optimal Performance and Optimal Quality settings on both the OpenGL and Direct3D but I still get the same problem.

Anyone know how I can fix this? It would be very much appreciated 🙂

have you tried other games? might sound dumb - but have you got the lappy on a hard breathable surface? Just sounds to me like the vid card is overheating.
