Game Ping Issue

So earlier I was playing DoD source at this usual server where i get about 40-50ping and randomly my ping spikes up to 200 and I also experienced packet loss. I quit the game and my whole internet was slow down to losing connection to aim. After awhile i was finally able to login and surf the web. But the problem is, i tried going back to the DoD source server the ping is stuck at 170 while some of my other servers are back to normal at 50. No one else on that original server is experiencing any connection issues except me so Im assuming its my client side. What can it be? I tried rebooting. Maybe theres still something wrong w/ my isp at the server side? I currently use Cox internet. Thanks for any help guys.

Might be your ISP, mine was horrible a few months back where it would just jump to incredibly high pings for hours at a time. It took about a month for them to get latency low and stable again. Anyways my ISP is notorious for technical problems and keeping you in the dark as to what's going on.
