I just connected a gamepad pro to my soundcard (an old pci 512) but my computer is saying that they are "not connected"

Is there anything here im missing? or is it more likely my soundcard connection is broken?...or is it even supposed to plug in there lol?

Are you sure that the gameport on the PCI512 is working properly? You can check this under Device Manager --> Sound, Video and Game Controllers and see if a gameport is listed.

well, ive been formating and reinstalling everything lately, and i had a few problems with the sound card

but i did get the latest driver from soundblaster and i also installed the playcenter from the CD. Now, im assuming (maybe incorrectly) that you're talking about Add new hardware --> sound video and game controllers Because i cant find any device manager. But anyway, when i go to the device manager what it tells me needs to be "fixed" is the PCI ethernet controller, multimedia audio bus, and universal serial bus. Are any of those the type of thing i need to fix?

Yes, the gameport is likely tied into the multimedia audio and the gameport won't work until you get the later fixed.
