I'm not sure if this was a serious question or just an opportunity to get that one in... either way, I approve.

The answer is Jaqen H'ghar. Telling you any more about him would be a spoiler.

I'm glad somebody appreciates political blooper humor.

And I don't mind the spoilers and have no plan on reading the books either. I'll just wiki it, thanks :D

wasn't it Gerald Ford who kept falling off stages? Bob Dole just spoke in 3rd person and had the greatest post-political career of any man in recent history as a Daily Show correspondent in 2000 right in the mix as the Daily Show became unbelievably good.

I don't think i've ever hated a single character as much as Joffrey. He's such an arrogant, sadistic pussy. I want to see his fucking head on a pike.

the funny thing is that off-camera, the actor who plays him actually comes across as really nice and funny.

Actually, I like Tywin.

The physical description does not exactly match (he is not as grotesque, or as physically able as the book character) but the actor playing him is great!

I am a LITTLE disappointed in the age smear they seem to have with all the women though. Some older, some younger than what they were in the book (most older). I can see the reason for some (boobies), but having all the main women (I forget their name) being played by women in their 30s and up seems... odd.

I felt like they had to age Sansa up, because even HBO couldn't get away with showing a 12 year-old girl in an abusive relationship... and then everyone else had to be aged up accordingly.

The problem is in convincing people that anybody would go out of their way to sleep with them.

Cerci being the biggest one. Not that she is UGLY, but I do not see men killing their friends for her....

I think the age of the women is about right.

Daenerys - I think she was 13 in the books so the kiddie pron angle would not work. Actress looks young enough. She passes for 20.

Catelyn Stark - ~35 in the books. Actress looks mid-to-late 40's but considering the hard times she lives through she'd not age gracefully.

Stark girls - About right with a ~3 year bump in age.

Cersei Lannister - Got her about right. She has three kids and the actress looks appropriately aged for the part.

Melisandre - I think this actress is all wrong. Too old and wrong accent. Think they blew it with her.

Margaery Tyrell - Actress is ~30 but looks 19. They got it right so they can make her the ho that she is.

In the books Cersei is coping with being just past her prime after having been the hottest girl in town all her life.

Here we see Joffrey passing his free time with a sex doll that he made from the desecrated corpse of a puppy he caught attempting to flee an orphanage he had just lit on fire.

Fact that everyone hates him so much just shows what amazing job he's doing and how well he's portraying the character (you hate him that much in the books as you do in the show). I think so far for the most part that's how you feel with everyone. Cercei I don't think was cast well but she's not doing a bad job, the rest are doing really well. Tywin is doing too well because you don't like him in the books.

Lena Headey? Are you fucking kidding me? Hot as all get-out. VERY beautiful woman. Not in a porn sort of way, but a classic beauty sort of way.

I like when she throws up the horns...

In all seriousness, she is probably better looking with her natural hair color. The fake blonde for the show is kinda getting on my nerves and doesn't suit her (the actress, obviously not the character).

I agree they had to age them due to the sexual stuff. But Martin wrote it like the middle ages where girls were up for grabs once they started bleeding. Not his fault that is how history was.
Also remember that Martin did originally plan for a 5 year jump to age the main characters correctly so that the finale books would have grown Arya, Sansa, Jon, etc. Sansa and Joffrey are supposed to be 12 in the third book or so. Jon snow only like 14. Arya should be 10, maybe. With 5 years on them it makes some more sense, but GRRM was having trouble just skipping 5 years.

The worst is Margaery. In the books she was 15, but they have an actress who is 30 playing her. I don't know what her age is suppose to be in the show, but it looks like she should have been married off a long time ago. Kind of old to be a young princess.

that seems like such a nit-picky thing, though.

I'd buy the actress playing Margaery as early 20's, and I don't think it really distracts anything from the show.

What really bothers me is they have the hair styles and colors all mucked up! Gosh, what shall we do. Its just way too distracting how the show isn't a 100% authentic and faithful re-creation of the books.

I know... but she was still near the top in the first one... And the series made her look like Ned would be crazy to sully his Honor with her (even though she tried).

He would've been crazy to sully his honor with her, not because she's unattractive, but because she's a conniving manipulative bitch. Is that not represented well in the books?

It was.

But it also said she was very good at what she did. The book kind of made you question whether Ned would be strong enough in character to resist temptation (not only from her, but from the rigors of office). But looking at Ms. Bleach Blonde just made me think "Hmmmf. That wasn't so hard. (literally)".
