just finished ep9.

drago's death was a let down. he was killed by an infection caused by a minor wound? he's fought many battles. certainly he's received worse wounds.

or did the witch cause the injury to fester instead of heal like she said she was going to do?

In the book it was made clear that Drogo didn't follow her suggested treatment and wouldn't use the poultice because it itched. The series didn't mention that part.

She was a witch...however, she was the type like the dog that bites the hand that feeds them.

She was extended an olive branch, she choose to attack. She lost.

Der be dragons in these parts now.

He knew something was up with it. In the end the witch cursed him.

not very flattering. she has awful tits
Brienne is the only daughter and heiress of Lord Selwyn of Evenfall and the island of Tarth. Brienne is a highly-trained and skilled warrior and would rather be a knight than a wife. Generally considered a "freak" due to her abnormal size, strength, and near-absence of secondary female sexual characteristics, she is honest, stubborn and rather naive about the world at large, despite her circumstances and the poor reception most people show her. Brienne won a position in the Rainbow Guard of Renly Baratheon, with whom she was infatuated through victory in ritual melee combat.
Jaime puts a bit of faith in her in the future as well. In real life, guys don't always need supermodels around them to get the job done.

She was casted well in this role IMHO.

From the book:

So she's not pretty, but she's no monster. Where are they going to find an actress with Owen Wilson's nose and crooked teeth. Those are things most actors and especially actresses get fixed.
ever consider a false nose and teeth with makeup and props? :p

at any rate I'm not as concerned with the minor looks of the actress as much as I am with the physical prowess. Brienne is basically supposed to be a chick that is a dude, capable of physical feats that would embarrass the vast majority of men.

I really wouldn't care if they cast an actress with a beautiful face and even an attractive body, as long as she isn't big chested and looks like she could kick the ass of most men I'd be satisfied.

yep.

Daenerys is still very young and naive, she honestly believed her act of kindness/mercy would be enough to win allegiance.

Are you suggesting that the witch never ultimately intended the betrayal? I don't remember anything suggesting that the treatment was benign, for all we know Drogo would have succumb sooner if he hadn't torn the "poultice" off.

Dude!! Watch the spoilers!!!
the season has long since been over with, as long we don't get obvious book spoilers in here I don't see the harm...

You're assuming facts not in evidence. For all we know the treatment was completely beneficial and Drogo died because he refused to follow it. The book made it very clear that Mirri betrayed Daenerys in the final spell, it never even hinted at her doing it earlier. The people who are claiming that the witch murdered Drogo by giving him an intentionally tainted treatment are making that up out of their own imagination, it was never discussed.

I don't think they'll bother with false teeth and changing her nose. They didn't even use contacts for the Targaryens to have purple eyes, or Tyrion to have mismatched eyes.

I'm not worried about the physical scenes. There's a youtube video of her in Faust doing wire work. She was also on a sword fighting page looking for a trainer months before the casting.

To be fair, she did warn Daenerys that it wouldn't end well, lol.

Dude...the witch TELLS Danny that she did what she did because of how they raped her and her people and burned her village. You think she tried to help Drogo only to turn around and hurt him once the wound had festered? C'mon, really? Seems obvious the first priority was to kill Drogo and the second was to kill her baby.

The book makes it clear that Drogo did not follow instructions. Apparently, you can't read very well. And, had Drogo lived, then the witch would have lived. It was pretty apparent after he died that she wouldn't survive long after. So, why not kill Drogo's kid when she had nothing to lose?

It makes it clear he didn't follow her instructions, but it doesn't make clear her intentions. It could have been a multitude of things.

1-her wanting drogo and his son dead from the beginning
2-drogo not following instructions, her killing the son since she had nothing to lose
3-drogo was already doomed and it didn't matter what she did. She was later offered the ability to off the son and save the world from being mounted and took it
4-she is a healer and actually tried to help but her opinion and motivations changed during her time with dany/drogo
5-whatever the fuck else martin had in his head.

Drogo's death meant her death. There is absolutely NO indication that ANYWHERE in the book that she meant to kill Drogo. It is clear that she tried to save him. If you can't see that, then you're just bad at reading.
