A friend of mine has a basic laptop with Pentium M dual core, 128MB video (system ram), and win7.

It's not going to play much in the way of games, but do you guys have any ideas? He likes FPS shooters, etc. Does Quake Live play ok on a laptop like that?

Doesn't sound like he'll be able to run anything good, I don't think Pentium Ms even exist anymore, so we are looking at circa 2003-2008 architecture?

I'd say it's a trial an error thing, but I wouldn't get too excited.

It might be newer than an M then. The machine has 4GB of ram and Win7.

Even Source games can run on most anything, you could definitely give L4D2/TF2/CSS/HL2 a try.

Check the games at gog.com.

There's lots of good stuff there.

You could try Wolfenstien Enemy Territory. Its free and old came out in 03 but still has a decent amount of players. My intel 4500m graphics can just play it.
