Game (GTA3) will not even open anymore!

FULLY LEGAL COPY.
I go to the directory in C:, double click, the hourglass cursor goes for a second, and then... nothing. nothing. nothing at frickin all. so I try again. over three months, intermittently. I shut down all unneccessary programs. I set video settings very low. I reverted to older drivers for my vid card. I right click to app properties and change the compatibility settings. still nothing!!!! I am sick and tired of screwing with this, i have emailed Take2 to no avail, my friend has had the same problem (except his decided to work sometimes) and I have run through every tech help thing at Take2 possible.

Try reinstalling. Run a complete uninstall, and then reinstall the entire thing.

delete the file 'gta3.set' in your GTA 3 user files directory. This works for me whenever I install new drivers and it stops working. Don't worry, it won't mess up any save games if you do this.
