Alright here it is,
Game: Ravenshield (UNREAL Engine.)
My PC: 2.53Ghz P4 533FSB, 1024mb DDR333 PC2700 RAM, PNY Geforce 4 Ti4400 128mb.
My monitor: Samsung syncmaster 753df.
My problem: Ravenshield frame rate is CAPPED off at the refresh rate of my monitor. Meaning, 1024x768@85 = Maxium of 85 fps. (Which is BS, look at my pc specs, I KNOW I should be getting more.) Everyother second, the fps jumps to 100+, however... it just gets pulled down to 85fps.
What I've tried:
- Setting to a lower res. and higher refresh rate. My result, was that the frame rate DID go up. I set refresh to 100, my frame rate was CAPPED again at around 100fps. However, I don't want my game running at 800x600.
- Program called Refresh Force, tweaked with settings. It did NOTHING that I couldn't already do in settings panel.

My questions:
- Is it possible to get my game to run at high fps without messing with my refresh rates?
- If not, then is it possible to run my monitor at 100+refresh rate (safely) and still play at 1024x768?
- If not, then will someone please come here and help me beat this POS monitor with a golf club?
- Anyone with a good monitor, tell me what kind, brand, model....etc, so I can get a better one, price is no big issue.

You will most likely need the "coolbits" registry edit to enable you to disable v-sync.
Im sorry I dont have a link but GOOGLE never lets me down.

While in the game, hit the tilda key (to bring up the console), type in preferences, and hit enter. In the advanced options expand rendering and direct3d support. There you can turn vsync to false.

Same goes for any unreal engine game :)

Remember that if you have any issues with mouse or lag in games you might want to change it back. Too high a FPS can cause problems in certain game engines. I'm not sure about how Unreal deals with it, it could be fine. Just an FYI I guess. :)
