Processor:Amd Athlon XP 2800
BIOS date:08/31/04
Memory:760MB RAM
Graphics card:Nvidia Geforce 6800
Sound Card:NVIDIA nforce audio
DirectX: DirectX version 9.0
OS: Microsoft XP home edition

Well My computer crashes whenever I play any computer game. Ive had this problem for a while and it seems I have tried everything to stop it. The games allow me to play for a limited number of time before crashing to desktop or just rebooting the computer. I have quite a number of fans in my system so I dont think it is a over heating problem. MY BIOS,Motherboard,Video Card, Direct X are all updated with the proper drivers. A friend of mine says its probably an issue with my mother board and graphics card clashing. But both my mother board and video card are both NVIDIA made so I dont see how they can clash. But if anyone has any idea of what is going on please reply. I have delt with this problem for many months now and I really want to play the games I have. Thankyou

Check you event viewer

Control panel - Administrative Tools - Event viewer

Look under all 3 things at a time that it crashed... one should give you a warning or error one or somthing like that

then......report what it says

Logitech/Kaspersky/ZoneAlarm/Sysprep and NVidia can cause the 1517 error, along with many other apps.

For the NVidia, delete the following keys:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run]:
"NvCplDaemon"="RUNDLL32.EXE NvQTwk,NvCplDaemon initialize"
and
"nwiz"="nwiz.exe /install"
They came within the NVidia Detonator driver.
