Game Controller Problem...

Hey All,

Recently bought a GamePad to play FIFA2004. I bought the Logitech Wingman Rumblepad shown here: http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/products/details/US/EN,CRID=11,CONTENTID=5022

I plugged in the controller into the USB slot, and instantly it was recognized by XP. However, when i went to TEST and CALIBRATE the controller things did not seem right. The X/Y Axis / the left analog joystick was moving on it own. It would not stay in the center position for more than a second and would move around a bit on it own. I noticed when playing FIFA2004 that the players would also move on their on when on offense when you use the left analog joystick. So i knew there had to be a problem.

I tried testing another USB Slot, installing the drivers off the cd instead of XP's default installed drivers for the device none of which worked. I also tried pluggin in the device on my laptop, which also has XP installed.... It worked with no problems! So then i tried it on another computer also with XP but home edition this time, and it also worked properly.

I am not sure what to conclude from all this other than that it is most likely a software problem, although i cant completely rule out a hardware issue, but all my other usb devices work with no problems.

Any ideas? Anyway i can remove all previous game controller drivers if they may be conflicting?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks alot All,

hm thats really odd. but u did the right thing testing the unit on other pc's. seems to rule out the gamepad as the source of the problem. do you have ghost? image your o/s so u can do a quick clean install to test what happens. then u can restore back if u want....

I read about a registry change you can make to improve "trembling" too. Lemme know if the other suggestions don't work.
