Game console recommendation needed

Thinking about getting a game console for my 8 yo daughters birthday. She has never had one or played one except an old sega at grandmas. Parents know nothing about consoles or games.

thanks

Ps2 for the games and entertainment

Wii for the ...um...gameplay

personally I would choose the Ps2.

Hell, why not buy both. They're both cheap!

GameCube, console is dirt cheap, there's a load of great games for an 8 year old at $20, and I'm pretty sure Nintendo built the things out of reinforced steel or something; they're indestructible.

um lol no believe me, it IS destructible 😛

but either way, my vote goes to the game cube. you could go with a newer system (the wii) but for an 8 year old i think the the game cube is better

The Nintendo DS (??????DS, Nintendo Diesu?), often abbreviated NDS or DS, is a handheld game console developed and manufactured by Nintendo, and first released in 2004. The console features a clamshell design, with two LCD screens inside - one of which is a touch-sensitive screen.

The DS can stand for "Dual Screen" or "Developers System," from Nintendo's belief that the system "gives game creators brand new tools which will lead to more innovative games for the world's players."[12]

On March 2, 2006, Nintendo released the Nintendo DS Lite in Japan, a redesigned system which is slimmer and lighter with brighter screens, a longer and thicker stylus for the touch screen, an improved battery, and a relocated microphone. It was released later the same year in North America, Europe, Australia, and China.

..... KIDS LOVE IT.

ps3, she can watch barbies in full 1080p

(go for the 'cube, she'll love it, and its cheap as chips"

Not sure my 35 crt has 720 or 1080 🙂

Besides part of the plan is to move her to her playroom TV so we get the bigscreen back.

Anyway, I am leaning toward the gamecube. Should I buy a bundle or just the games separate. Any recommendations on games she might like?
