1. What YOUR PC will be used for. That means what types of tasks you'll be performing.

Pretty much Gaming, surfing the web

2. What YOUR budget is. A price range is acceptable as long as it's not more than a 20% spread

$1000

3. What country YOU will be buying YOUR parts from.

USA

4. IF YOU have a brand preference. That means, are you an Intel-Fanboy, AMD-Fanboy, ATI-Fanboy, nVidia-Fanboy, Seagate-Fanboy, WD-Fanboy, etc.

Intel, EVGA

5. If YOU intend on using any of YOUR current parts, and if so, what those parts are.

DELL 20" Monitor

6. IF YOU have searched and/or read similar threads.

YES

7. IF YOU plan on overclocking or run the system at default speeds.

I dont know how, but would be open to a little OC

8. What resolution YOU plan on gaming with.

With my current screen its 1680x1050, but would like to be able to go higher with a monitor UG at some point

9. WHEN do you plan to build it?

2-3 weeks depending on time

So far I have come up with:

Antec 300 Case
i7 CPU
EVGA - MB
EVGA Video Card - Not sure which one though 260, 275 ??
6g Ram - Not sure of the brand
Western Dig HD 1TB - Not sure of black, green, etc
DVD Drive
Power Supply - Not sure how much or which one

I posted a build a while back, but real world got in the way and i had to spend that money. It seems things have changed since then and would like some help on a newer build. Looks of a case are not that important to me, but stability and upgradeability are. I like EVGA because they have terrific support based on personal experience and Im pretty much set on that brand. The rest of the components pretty much im clueless about.

Thank you for any help and direction you can provide.

I'd go with an evga 4890 if they make them... i heard they are .05% slower than a GTX285... the 4890 can also be overclocked like a mother... and that translates to best price for performance ratio

eVGA only does nVidia, unfortunately. A 4890 is a good choice, just have to go with another manufacturer.
