Gambling for first time next week in Tahoe..

Who has some tips for a n00b?

I'll probably avoid slot machines and craps tables, and stay with either blackjack or roulette.

So how can I make it appear that I know what I might be doing if I venture into these games?

Blackjack... don't sit in the last position if there is a group of people. They will blame you if the dealer gets a blackjack or you take away his 'bust' card.

on roulette, make sure you don't do anything until the flipped shotglass is taken off the table. i had no clue what that thing meant when i went the first time lol, until they told me as i reached over the table as the shotglass was still on the table.

Nothing wrong with being a noob, as long as you don't try to play it off. Atleast if they know you're a noob, they can leave if you're gonna affect their cards (like at blackjack). Other games, being a noob just means you'll lose money, but if you're cool about it, the dealers and other gamblers will give you tips.

Main thing is to play with common sense.

If you do not know what is being done, do not do it.

Most times, people throwing large amouts of money/chips around, either are not playing smart, or have the money to burn. The old addage, if it looks to easy, it is for the benifit of the casino.
