Galt Praised Hanoi John Four Days Earlier

curious, which of the two would you want as president?

Between Edwards and Kerry? Kerry, of course. I went on the record during the 'Dean Psycho Tour' asserting that Kerry was the most qualified and the most presidential of the bunch...one of the few Democrats for whom I have total respect

Well, the record speaks for itself. Just four days ago, I proclaimed my total respect for John Kerry. I said that he was the most presidential of the bunch [of Democrats running for President]. That said, it seems that, in light of my recent discoveries, that I am now a troll. Funny how that works. I think I have uncovered the ultimate hypocrisy among Democrats. It appears people are so partisan in their ways here that they are unable to see things as they are?Kerry could have single-handedly killed every woman and child in Vietnam, could have been the uber-leader of the Communist Party, could have destroyed flags on Capital Hill and disrespected his fellow soldiers, and the lion?s share of Democrats would still support him. Instead, I processed the latest information I found on Kerry and reassessed my initial assessment of Hanoi John. Perhaps the boys and girls who actively participate in these forums will see the err in their ways. My job in to help you pull your blinders off and see things for what they are. Clearly, I have a lot of work to do.

You still don't get it, John, or maybe you do... I'm not sure... :) The reason they put ATMs with Braille instructions at the Drive Up window at the bank is not because some drivers may be blind but, rather, some drivers just can't see...

That's how being extremely partisan is. I mean, a Republican candidate could cause the largest deficit ever, sign bills that will cost even more billions than we already owe, invade and occupy a nation while ignoring other more serious threats and still be supported by those so far to the right they can't distinguish what is right and wrong.

Remember, the door swings both ways on this one.

Perhaps... :)
I speak of the majority of voters in what follows... not all but most, I think. It don't matter one bit about what is written, the truth or allegations contained therein, nor the idiosyncratic nature of Politics. All that matters to the voter is how she aligns herself. What makes her 'feel' like this or that candidate deserves her vote. If she 'feels' liberal she'll accept all that goes against the Right and reject all that goes against the Left. There are but a few intellectually honest voters who actually consider the planks and platform of the party or what the candidate will support if elected. In this forum there are a few such intellectually honest voters, as I've observed. Winston Smith strikes me as such a person but, these folks are far and few in between. We read the posts made in this forum, the twists and turns propounded by either side and debunk or accept and defend with all the vigor of our conviction. The source generators - the authors of 'propaganda' - are not reaching out to the polarized folks but, rather, to the folks who have yet to figure out how to align themselves. They are not the intellectually honest voter. They are simply the 'undecided' folks who vacillate back and forth accepting arguments from both sides as true or false.. The apathetic potential. The intellectual voter will align and support the actual expected outcome of the office seeker thus lending creedence to the polarized 'feel' folks.
So, it is not that some folks are blind.. they just don't see!

People who refer to themselves in the 3rd person generally have serious mental problems.

So, uhh, what's up, JG? A little embarassed about shooting your mouth off before you knew what you were talking about? And now you're all twisted because you got hopped up by a few of your fave uber-right web pages? And now, of course, you're on a crusade to discredit the evil deceiver, take your rightful place in the pantheon of truth and self-righteousness?

You fooled yourself- and in a 180 maneuver, you're doing it again. Wake up- Vietnam was apparently before your time, and isn't something easily understood in the black and white terms you seem to favor. To those of us who lived in that era, Kerry's transformation into an anti-war activist is not some dark secret, but rather a common phenomenon among young men sent out to fight for a false cause. They returned home quite disillusioned, and sought to prevent further pointless sacrifice of American and Vietnamese lives. Having been ordered to kill anybody in a given area will do that to you, particularly when it turns out to be women and children, too...

The VVAW was an umbrella organization that welcomed any vets who opposed the war, no matter their politics in other regards. And, naturally, they were and still are portrayed as commie-lovers by the knee-jerk authority lovers among us. Nothing is further from the truth.

The site you linked is one of the more rabid veteran's podiums- they don't like John McCain any more than they like Kerry. Not that they really know what they're talking about, and neither do you in this particular matter- not yet, anyway, and probably not ever, given that a very small amount of dubious interpretation can sway your opinion quite so far.

Frankly Galt, I can't figure out if you're just retarded, or whether you decided to drink a twelve-pack and then post stupid crap on P&N today. Either way, it's annoying the F out of people.
