we just need one more big race-driven event do excite the base! either that or spread more lies about how the republicans hate old people and minorities.

the answer to success for the left this election year is : hypocrisy.

That's weak compared to Dr. Paul can do.

Ron Paul is never, ever, going to be President as long as the main argument in his favor is badgering people with incorrect ideas of how popular Ron Paul is.

Edit: And speaking personally, something about the way some of his supporters insist he be called "Dr. Paul" makes me want to vote for him even less each time. Annoying people is not usually a good way to win support for your candidate or your ideas.

I don't think "hypocrisy" means what you think it means...

Both sides are pretty insistent that the other side's main strategy is lies and slander about their opposition. But you know what, people aren't as dumb as you might think. If public perception is leaning a particular way, there might be a reason.

For example, I'm sure the Democrats are eager to bank on the the story of the "Republican war on women". But they can't sell something like that by inventing it out of whole cloth. If Democrats are having an easy time selling the idea that Republicans hate women, it's probably because the Republicans are doing everything they can to help the Dems out.

LOL, Romney doesnt have a chance in hell

With any luck, he'll drag other Repubs down with him, too...

When he tries to campaign back to the middle, Obama will already have those squares covered. Policy-wise, Obama could pass for a pre-1994 Republican, easily pass for a pre-Reagan Republican. His only weakness is that he's not really much of a Democrat.

Doesn't really matter we're going broke.

Internet Bubble-->Real Estate Bubble-->Government Bubble-->Hyperinflation-->Revolution

Pretty much. But you left out police state, summary executions, etc on way to revolution.

lolz I like Ron Paul's idea on war and peace and police state which the Right hates. Everyone hates the idea 1776 economics w/o homestead mind you. No chance. He only appeals to 25% max in the first place and they have party loyalty to think about.

Plus he a whiny man with poor looks, and people don't warm to whiny men or ugly ppl. Not saying that's right but it's reality in shallow TV age. Double no chance.

A new Washington Post-ABC News Poll confirms that Obama faces problems with his re-election bid. Among those surveyed, 55 percent said Obama will be a one-term president while only 35 percent say he will win re-election.

Why does everyone think Romney is going to lose to Obama? Even the conservatives seem to think that. Obama's approval ratings aren't that great. The job situation has improved but still sucks. Gas prices are high. I know Romney isn't that great a candidate and I can see this being something like Bush/Kerry but remember Kerry actually got pretty close to Bush there and we didn't even have a bad economy during that election.

What do gas prices have to do with the presidency?

The issue is their impact on electability, not their actual relationship to what the POTUS does in office. Perception, not reality, is what determines election outcomes.
