Ended up pulling the trigger on the free after rebate Tmo gs3.

This thing is light and not the sturdiest. It's thin, though, so a nice case shouldn't make it too big.

$1.18 shipped from China. Too bad Amazon has the add-on program for Amazon Prime now. Most of the cheap TPU cases are all around $5 shipped now when it used to be under $2.

Search Amazon for the Ringke Slim lite. Great case! Much prefer it to tpu.

Another alternative is the Rock Quicksand (also on Amazon):

I like it because it's got a one-of-a-kind texture that feels like sandstone, while also being pretty thin. It has enough of a lip over the front to protect the screen if you lay it flat.

That looks awesome.

I'd probably stick to the basics though. Love the slightly glittery texture of the TPU.

The Rock looks amazing but I can't imagine it doing anything in a drop.
