After following for months and keeping tabs on everything, I was quite thrilled to finally see the review of the GS2, specifically, how the Adreno would stack up to the Mali.
While reading some of the summaries and comments on this review from various sources, I realized that I came away from it with something different than most people, namely, that the Mali isn't embarrassingly faster than the Adreno. I've went through the scores and normalized them to show as level a field as I could. Sadly, the Adreno is completely missing from the offscreen renders, which I think would have reinforced my point.
Here are some highlights of Adreno vs Mali
Triangle Test performance improvement of 107% over Mali
Textured, Vertex Lit Triangle Test performance improvement of 36.5% over Mali
Adreno totally missing from glbenchmark 2.1 offscreen tests, but based on the conversion 384000 = 74.1% of 518400, it scores vs Mali:
ES 2.0 V1 Taiji
17.079 @qHD = 23 vs 45.61
ES 2.0 v1 Hoverjet
31.762 @qHD = 42.8 vs 51.907
GLBench 2.0 Egypt
23.6 @qHD = 31.9 vs 58.5

Not sure if resolution affects Flash Performance in GUIMark 2, but here it is normalized:

So there you have it. Keep in mind, that this information is only to clarify the horsepower of the car, not how fast it runs the quarter-mile. I hope that enough people read and think about this to slow the tide of "OMG Galaxy 2 gpu 2-4x faster than anything else!!!!11!"
