Galaxy GeForce 8800GT Overclocked

I've never dealth with Galaxy before, anyone have experience with this card or claiming a rebate from Galaxy?

wow i can't believe that canadacomputer is actually selling 8800gt for this cheap.


i'd also like to know how good the cooling is on this card. would the fan still be good if i were to overclock it to 700/2000?

Well there's a "overclocked" version and a non-overclocked version. Apparently the overclocked version has a better cooler on it (as you can see on the pic).

Price/selection is obviously not as good as newegg but it's not bad for a local store...

yea i mainly use canadacomputers as a guide to product and what i should pay. usually CC always overprice their stuff over the other stores here so i always try to look for anything cheaper.


and a 8800gt card here in canada is pretty amazing, when you look at ncix you see a lot of these cards going at 230 lol.

This card overclocks like crap; stock is 1.05v, they have a jumper auto set to 1.15v, and it won't even get to 650/1650 stable for me.
I have nice cooling too.
NCIXUS sucks for buying during holiday season (christmas) cause it takes them 6 days from the time you click purchase to the time they give the package to fedex.
edit: I now see this thread has nothing to do with NCIXUS.

You get what you pay for. The cooler is now nice and quiet (they fixed the loudness)
I'd go for another brand for overclocking.

According to overclocking galaxy 8800gt, the card has a 3-pin jumper.

The jumper allows the following voltage: 1.1v (no jumper), 1.2v (jumper 1-2), and 1.3v (jumper 2-3).

I bought the non-overclocked version from ncix(cananda) (shipping took awhile due to custom), and it's running fine. It's very quiet, but the fan is not temperature-controlled. Also sent in the rebate a few days ago with registered mail.

do you know what the warranty is for this card?

i searched a few forums besides AT and some people say the warranty is 1 year manufacturer.

when i looked at the galaxy tech site, no offence but holy jesus this is one of the most confusing OEM nvidia site i've been to, they only link to 1/3 of their products, the rest you gotta search for in their search box.

also when i looked at the warranty section it only says that they provide limited lifetime to "MASTERPIECE" card owners. does anyone know what kind of warranty if any they provide to 8800gt owners?

galaxy doesnt have a RMA center in North America yet. all returns are supposed to be handled through the retailer. NCIXUS lists a 1 year warranty.

I kinda regret getting this one simply from a warranty perspective. You should just shell some extra and get evga or other vendors with lifetime warranty - for peace of mind. This is assuming of course that Galaxy doesn't offer lifetime warranty.

I cannot believe this BS. My Galaxy 8800gt just died! And the stupid warranty is only for 1 year! GAH! I never noticed how short the warranty was!

8800gt is old stuff...... you can get more perfomance from the new graphic card
such as ATI RADEON 4770, ATI RADEON 4870, etc.....

2 8800GTs are as good as 1 GTX 285 so they are still viable.
