Which is the best Galaxy Ace 3 or Lumia 520 ?

The question is, how much do you need android and the app variety that comes with it? They're more or less equivalently spec'd phones, but the Lumia costs less than half as much. If you want a pocket computer, you might be better off with the Ace. If you want a device to check email and look things up online, the Lumia is cheaper and will probably run a bit smoother.

I personally lean more in the latter category.

You can't compare phones from two different ecosystems, if you want more apps(may be more roms, not sure how popular ACE 3 is in Android developing world) then choose Ace 3, but be prepared to see some lagging. On the other hand, if you don't need more variety of apps but a more smoother & polished(the way it runs even on low level hardware such as 520) then go for Lumia 520 & Windows 8 Phone.

Agreed. There's so many more questions to answer before you get to which phone is better. You really need to start with 'Which OS do I choose?'

Having said that, if you don't have a smart device currently and aren't tied to iOS/Android/WP, then I'd definitely recommend the Lumia 520.

The Ace 3 will definitely have the larger and better app library with Google Play, but having seen Samsung's TouchWiz UI on 4.2.2 and 4.3, I have my doubts that an A9 1Ghz with 1GB of RAM is going to offer performance up to par. I'm not sure what the community development is like on the Ace 3, you'd have to browse through XDA, but if you can get a AOSP build on it, it'd likely perform pretty well. If thats the case, I'd go with the Ace 3 over the Lumia.
