Hmmm...seems like peeps are upset about the speed of the fan not being adjustable (i.e., the fan runs at 100% all the time).

Still, for a gaming rig (rather than a HTPC), a great deal IMO.

Looks like a standard 3-pin fan connector. Just plug it into your motherboard.

So its $241 up front... and $201 after the rebate. Not $189.99... :/

Still a good price, after the rebate. Too bad newegg or ZZF doesnt have this card. Probably a lot cheaper on the shipping, and maybe on the price.

So there's a $12 shipping charge as I said in the first post and I also didn't say $189 Shipped in the Original Thread Title as most people don't. I'll change the thread title just for you. Do I get a smiley face now?

It's 2 wires; I've got it; all of them except possibly the very very first version of this card have 2 wires. Only 2 pins on the PCB as well.

Speed of fan not being adjustable does not matter anymore; there was a version of card they produced which had a loud fan, and for this 100% was bad; but now they've gone back to the old fan version (some coolermaster copper heatpipe fan) and it is darn near silent. Great deal IMO; pick it up if you get the chance.

does anyone here own one and can confirm that the card is not loud due to it's 100% fan speed?

I have this model. Not loud to my ears. I cannot hear it over the other fans in my computer.

If it's anything like my Powecolor 3850 then it is loud and unadjustable. But I only have 1 case fan. When I had a loud front intake I couldn't hear it. I ended up modding it to run on my 5v, which means it should be running at about 41% speed and its quiet and still stays incredibly cool. Obviously 8800s may or may not be as cool, but if it is then just mod it if you don't like the noise.

The fan used in this one is not radially bladed like that, it's like a standard fan that sucks down onto the GPU; and it is quiet-- can just barely hear over my 3 120mm case fans; and those things by themselves are already uber quiet; so slightly louder than uber quiet is what this card is :).

looks like they are ditching the centrifugal fan version and going with the coolermaster version on the hdmi card.

The pic on the galaxy website shows the hdmi version with three wire fan.
