I like RTS games and if I do go out and buy this (want to read some reviews first), it might just be the first game I actually register with the company provided they have some space for user comments. I'd love to let them know that Starforce gave them free advertising and that I appreciate them putting their paying customers first. Starforce might discourage some piracy, but I have a hard time believing their licensing fees are worth the extra cost in the long term to the game publishers.

Here's my posting bias though...I hate malware. Starforce is right up there with the stuff you get added to your system when frequenting warez and porn sites with a Win95 machine.

Yeah I read that yesterday when Brad Wardell (Gal Civ dev) posted it at quartertothree. What a bunch of jerkoffs. I never had an issue with Starforce on my system but after they knowingly post a link to a working torrent of a game that doesn't use their "protection", I will never buy another game that uses SF.

btw Gal Civ 2 is a great game. very fun. check out "recent game stories" at the wiki to see what it's like.

GalCiv2 is not a RTS. It's Civilization in space

I bought the game straight from stardock. It not having copy protection was a major factor in buying it from them.
