Yah Yah i know its an old card, but until I started buying more and more games that use a full DX 8.1 feature set the card was working fine.
It all started with Empire Earth. EE would run fine for like an hour and then crash...hard, requiring a soft reset. when xp booted back in i would get a fimilar message stating that "there is a problem with (in bold) Nvidia GeForce 3. Please contact vendor for blah blah blah."
I was like ok whatever, so EE dont work, no bigge. Then Dungeon Seige crashed randomly. This got me scratching my head so I sent an email like so:
> I have a problem with my Geforce 3 card that i bought a year ago from a

Get this for respose, and this should make you think twice about dealing with Gainward:
Hi,
No new bios is available.
GeForce 3 is old and discontinued. I think that the old driver sometimes is
the best driver.
Thanks.
Now Like i had in the e-mail OGL works flawlessly, and i reciently got AOM and Hitman 2 ... hitman 2 crashes on certian levels, and AOM has the same crash as EE.... The funny thing is taht I have since then upgraded my entire system short of my soud and video card. To be exact:
XP 2100+
Gigabyte 7VAXP+
Kingmax pc2700
well my question might not be so obvious after all this ranting but it is twofold:
1)HAs anyone encountered the same problem?
2)Since I'm looking squarely at ATI now I'm wonderng which company should i trust for a quality part and excellent service (I was thinking Asus or Gigabyte) preferably in the U.S. of A.
