Is it common depending no the "new, betaness" of a driver to get complete random crashes even at stock speeds? Im running 42.86 and it just randomly turned the screen all pink and pixelated like the graphiccard had just crashed. the 42.90 drivers did this to me no matter what i ran, so i went back to 42.86, direct9 did this as well so i switched back to 8.1.

Is this just my video card sucking, or me playing with the drivers a lot and finding out what is or is not working? If its probably the video card i should send it back asap.

ILl take this one guys :)

Its basically a bug with the gainward 4200 card..... Im pretty sure most everyone gets it, I konw it used to happen to me. If you call/email Gainward they will RMA it with no questions asked :)

As for me, I overclocked the hell out of my card and for some reason it no longer does the checker-board thing.... This isn't a suggestion, just my experience :)

Hey hammy, what max OC have you gotten so far with no artifacting

So even if i did RMA it I would end up with another card that did the same thing probably?

Gainward knows of the issue and will RMA your card for the pink&blue screen crashes. It is supposedly caused by faulty capacitors on the card. I actually just sent mine off on Friday for this reason. There have been several threads on this recently if you desire more detail.

highest i can get is 280 core 570 memory with 0 artifacting..... I can increase it a lttle but then the artifacts start to bug me...
Maybe ill invest in better cooling?
