Which Cardex/Gainward video card would you recommend? My son likes to play Medal of Honor and wants a faster card. Is the GeForce3 worth the additional cost?

GeForce3 TI200 64m DDR AGP w/TV Out
or
GeForce2 TI500 VIVO 64MB 4ns DDR

Is that a GeForce2 Ti500 or GeForce3 Ti500 ? If its a GF2, then pay the extra amount and get the GF3 . If you meant the GF3 Ti200 vs. the GF3 Ti500, stick with the GF3 Ti200 also - it's a much better value (GF3 Ti500 costs almost double).

Neither. The GF4 Ti4400 will be out in a couple weeks, so I would get him that if you are going to buy him a new card, and are willing to spend $300.. Ti4400 MSRP $300, so they'll be cheaper than that online.

Ooops. My bad. I didn't see the GF2 part. GF3 Ti 200, or better yet Radeon 8500 retail is now at $160 online, $199. at Best Buy.

The Gainward Geforce2 Ti500 is about $130 w/ S&H and the Gainward Geforce3 Ti200 is about $160 at oldovum.

Last I heard the GF 4 4200 won't be out until at least April.

Go to newegg and you can get the MSI GF 3 ti 200 for $150 shipped. I ordered one two nights ago and eagerly wait for it. It isn't VIVO but if you want a VIVO card you can get one for the same price. Look at pricewatch.com

Personally I'd pay the few extra bucks and get the GF3 over the GF2. It's not much more money but significantly faster, even if you won't notice it with Medal of Honour; you will later.

look for the gainward ti450 golden sample, my friend justgot one. It's technically a ti200 but comes out of the boxed clocked between a ti200 and ti500. His overclocked easily to over what a ti500 does. Great card, great preformance. I know where my next card is coming from...

I have a gainward Ti200 that runs PERFECT at the Ti500 speeds. They even give you a util to make overclocking easy. :)

No matter what, go with a G3 Ti-200. That will rock MOHAA all day long, even at stock speeds.

Gainward's cards have always proven to be tops when it comes to overclockability. They have IMHO the best components and are made very well. They usually have ram that will overclock way beyond spec also. I would go for one of their GeForce3 Ti200 cards. Buy based on the ram speed in ns. They should all have atleast 4ns ddr. The Ti500's have 3.8ns. Also 128mb of ddr hasn't really proven to do much unless you are like running at 1600x1200 w/ AA4 and all kinds of nice ****...so don't bother IMHO unless you really want it...

You can get a GF3 Ti200 at newegg w/ 64mb of ddr for 150ish and the 128mb ddr for 175ish.
