I just got a new (retail) gainward geforce3 powerpack (ti200 128mb) and its causing video failure when booting up. System sounds like its booting up fine, but there's nothing on the monitor, then the system just shuts off after a little bit. With the old vid card everything works fine, and I even tried a generic geforce3 ti200 (roommate's) and that booted up fine. Running a 1gig thunderbird on abit KT7A (compatibility issue?).

Any advice?

edit: also got the gainward to boot up on roommates computer....

I had a Gainward GF3 Ti200 64meg Golden Sample in my KT7-RAID for about two days. I could boot up fine, but any thing 3D or 2D would cause serious static and bump me back to the windows desktop/hardlock the whole computer.

In the end, I sent the card back to Newegg.com and ordered a PNY GF3 Ti200, which works great for me. :)

What BIOS is your KT7A running on? My KT7 was the 64 bios.
