Which Nvidia driver are you using? Go to Guru3D and download the Detonator Destroyer program. Uninstall the current Nvidia driver you're using, but before you reboot run the Det Destroyer to clean out anything the uninstall misses. Reboot. Select one of the default Windows display drivers when your card is re-detected. Reboot again, and then install a non-beta Nvidia driver. Which OS are you using?

I'll assume you aren't overclocking your video card. Try using an older driver, like 21.83. I'm using Win2k but I had nothing but problems with 23.11.

Oh and just to be on the safe side make sure you disable any anti-virus software if you're running the driver from an executable.

I've heard of problems with 23.11 and motherboards that have a VIA chipset, but from what I see, you have an i815 based Intel motherboard.. Odd..

A lot of people have problems with the 23.11 version.
21.83 would've been my suggestion, too, seems to run with almost every NVIDIA-based card.

Did you already try the drivers you got with the card ?

If that doesn't work, though I would prefer NVIDIA reference drivers anyway, I guess you can save yourself some time if you just backup your data and do a fresh and clean install with version 21.83. This is just my opinion or rather what I would tend to if I were you. But maybe somebody elsa has a better idea that works for you.

well the previous owner didnt give me the driver cds .... so i have to download the driver from several webside. Well... after running several test .... just like the others ..gainward is not really a good overclocking friendly card.... i only able to play games and run 3dmark after i downclock my processor speed to 140 FSB ....previously was 145 fsb with geforce2 pro , no problem at all in gaming .....

i was wonder is it all geforce3 ti-200 behave like that ?

Oh, so then forget about the new install :D. But you should've mentionned the OC.

That's simply bad luck with the OC. If I'm not mistaken GAINWARD usually OCs quite good, so maybe the card is already in a way damaged from the OC of the prvious owner...

Actually the Gainward is extremely OC friendly but maybe not the way you're talking about. I recommend returning your FSB to default speed, then overclocking the card itself using the coolbits registry hack. You'll see a better performance increase doing that than you will by OC'ing your CPU. If your card is a "golden sample" you should be able to get the memory over 500 MHz easy. Mine is the non-golden version and I can get it up to around 200/500.

But after all the problems you're having I would just run it at factory defaults for a while, looping 3dMark several times to make sure it's stable.

I dont think mine is a golden sample .... The box only written power pack!!! ....is that golden sample ?

Well... i know gainward can be overclock quite high ...wat i mean is gainward is not really friendly to overclocking system ... like mine. The card i am having now able to overclock 230/485 ....that is the max i can go .

I had a problem with the 23.11 drivers as well, my Intellimouse Explorer went crazy after I installed them. I went back to 21.83s and everything seemed ok, but I couldn't finish 3DMark 2001. Well, I looked around for answers and found something that worked, I went into my bios and set my AGP aperture size to 128MB (or half of your system memory). I can run 3DMark 2001 just fine along with all of my games. Really, you shouldn't need to set it that high, but it was the only thing that worked! I got my Gainward running 240/530 very stable.
