So I ordered a Gainward Xpert GeForce2 Ti 500xp refurb. from newegg, but instead, they send me the 450xp, I checked gainwards' site and the 450 has not on the 500xp, if newegg gives me a few bucks off and ask me to keep the card, should I even bother? by the way, I paid 60 bucks for ordering the Ti500xp.

tks.

The GF2 Ti500 has 4ns rated ram and the GF2 Ti 450 has 4.5ns. I used to have the Ti500 running 290/520, it was a good card for it's time. However, if I was spending $60 on a video card today I would have chosen the Radeon 9000. Hands down it looks better, runs faster and more importantly, it is DirectX8.1 capable. Another possibility is a Geforce 3 Ti200 which is down to about $70 shipped. Much faster than a Radeon 9000, but you have to choose the right brand to get good 2D quality. Looks to me since Newegg goofed it shouldn't be a problem to return it and get a refund, then perhaps try one of the suggestions above.

I ordered the same card you are reffering to, a Golden Sample Gainward Geforce 2 ti500 ViVo back in July. That is a good card, don't settle for the ti450 man. Did it come with a Video dongle? If it did; keep it, if not send it back. If you are going to use it on your main rig, I wouldn't settle for anything less than a Geforce 3. If it is for a spare machine it wont make a difference. But I paid 60 bucks also at the time (free shipping mind you)

I have a Ti450- out of the box it was 250/400. It'll go to 275/475 without breaking a sweat. Guess you have to decide if it's worth it. A Gainward Golden Sample GF3Ti200 is going for $90- that would hit great speeds and not break your wallet either.
