Ok, Here are my problems with this card.

1. I am at 1280x1024x32 @ 85 andI have a small ghosting effect which makes text very unreadable. The edges of applications look like they are moving with small indents all up and down.

2. The reason I got this card was to overclock it. Power strip says that the Engline Clock is 150.19 Mhz. ?? and the Memory as
324.00 MHz. When I try to up these settings and run a 3D application, Video freezes and audio continues, I have to restart my computer to fix it.

I have tried all different versions of drivers and such and nothing seems to be working. I am also having that Direct X 8.1 error that has been reported.

Any Ideas? Thanks

System Specs
P4 1.7 400Mhz FSB

And to the Top it goes, where it stops nobody knows.

Also, When I have it down at a really low res, I get no ghosting. But with a 21" monitor you really want to have a nice big res

Thats odd. Could it be an older version of powerstrip? It seems like your reading half of what your card should be.

If its a new vesion try to increase your engine clock to 160 whcih will give you a core of 320 and the memory to 350 wich gives a 700.

Or does it lock when going up any?

If you have coolbits reg hack then go to the nvidia control panel and see what it shows your running and OC from there.

Try getting a shorter monitor cable or a higher quality monitor cable.

The problem is noise and interference.

Why are you using powerstrip to overclock nvidia cards? Use the registry "coolbits" hack. It's even described how to do it in anandtech. Plus, the coolbits hack allows you to "test" the card to see if it works before committing to the speed so you can work with small increments.

The version of Power Stip I am using I got direct from gainwards site. Ther verion is Ver 3.02 Beta and here is a link.http://www.gainward.com/us/download/utility.htm The reason I was using this is because my card is a gainward card. When using the newest nVidia drivers I see that the clock speed is all the way down to 300, It can't go any lower so if the clock speed was 200, would it show as 300?

My monitor cable is 6' and came with my Daewoo monitor. Its a great monitor and I didnt have this problem with my GeForce 2 MX 200. I did how ever over the weekend order a 3 Meter DVI-A to VGA Cable from CableWholesale.com (great store, shipped the same day and I ordered late that day, good prices), hopefully this will fix this problem. Is 3 Meters too big? Also, I didn't think this Gainward card was coming, I even canceled my United Micro order but the sent it anyway, so I returned the VisionTek Ti4600 That I had, that card however did not have this problem either, but that was a straight out VGA connecter.

When ever I try to increase either core or memory it it works until I open a 3D application. It plays for about ten seconds and then locks up. I was able to get the Visiontek to 325 core, I didn't have enough time with it to play with the memory.

fkloster over in gen hardware says he heard that gainwards were unstable at overclocked speeds, the oppos-
ite of what they are supposed to be. might wanna get nvmax and adjust lod bias to -3

How are all those people who have reviewed this card getting it to work in 3D Mark and Code Creatures? I have a VIA chipset, could there be a conflict?

Update,

I got my DVI -> VGA cable, so there is no dongle now. The ghosting is gone, however the little jaggaties on the edges of lines are still there, its really iratating especially when in photoshop, my guides look like they are moving. Any Ideas? The 3dMark and CodeCreatures problem just seems to have went away.

Also my monitor seems to be shaking im @85Hz refresh and there is nothing around that is magnetic in anyway.

Note: I ordered this card from united micro two days before it was released, it took a grand old time getting here, i kept getting bumped even though I was one of the first to order. They suck. I actually cancelled my order but they sent it anyway, I had picked up a Vision tek which did not have these problems.

Thanks for any help.
