Gainward Geforce 3 Ti500 DVI out

I just got a LCD 19" from viewsonic and I have a Gainward Geforce3 Ti 500 w/DVi due to arrive in the next day or so, and the only reason I got this card aside from the cool heatsinks and good wright ups is for the DVi connection for the LCD. It was stated that Gainwards DVI out did not work it was unclear wether it was the regular geforce 3 or the just released Geforce 3 Ti 500? I will be really upset if my DVI connection is not working. I have a Geforce 3 Ino3d card no DVI and when playing halflife and such I get major pixel shadowing and I am hoping DVI will reduce this subtantially. Let me know what you know about this issue.😕

Hey,

I have a gainward geforce3 golden sample vivo that I bought because of its dvi so I could use the dvi at lan parties with my planar 17.4" lcd. I have never been able to get it to work with dvi. My lcd works great with dvi and my radeon. I think it sucks that they are selling a product that does not work as advertised. What can we do about it? I emailed gainward after I could not get it to work and never heard from them. I also posted here and on hardocp and no one replied that they had it working.

Also I am disappointed in AnandTech and the other big tech sites that rated the gainward so high (that's why I bought it) when none of them tested the dvi to see if it worked - especially after the problems the geforce2 cards with dvi had I would have thought they would have checked to see if the problem was fixed.

I am hopping that is not the case, I ordered the gainward Geforce3 Ti 500 just for the DVI. I have a Viewsonic VG191B. I should be getting the card in a day or so, the only hope I have is that it was unclear if it was just the gerforce 3 and 2, and perhaps the Ti500 series fixed the problem I dont know I will find out and post the result.

You may run into some NVIDIA cards with a DVI connector that simply won't work with a DVI display plugged in. We conducted an informal test of a few of the DVI equipped cards we had in the lab and although all of the newer Titanium cards worked just fine, the Gainward GeForce3 would not work nor would NVIDIA's Reference GeForce2 MX.

I bought a Gainward GF3 for the DVI too (using VGA at the moment though), so I'm be mightily pissed off if I find in three months the TMDS implementation is a pile of crap.

Yeah, Anand's statement implies that the problem is limited only to the Gainward GeForce 3 and not the Gainward GeForce 3 Ti500 or Ti200
