I have heard in another thraed that the gainward gf3 golden sample has refresh problems. Is this true for the regular gainward geforce 3? Of course I was just about to order one from newegg for 239.00 when I heard this. Now I am holding off until I find out more. I am a beginner so could someone please explain what the problem is here?(in beginners terms) I need to order a video a card soon because my brother will be here next weekend to help me build my gaming rig. Is there a fix to this problem and could some please explain how to fix it(in beginners terms)

Thank you

I have a Gainward GF3 Golden Sample and have never had a refresh problem. I have a Dell-21 inch Trinitron monitor. I run at 1152x864-32bit-100mhz.

BTW, I just got the regular geforce 3 (non-goldensample) and I haven't had any problems.

Richleader...

You tried to OC yet? If so how high? I read in GamePC all Gainward GF3's are "Golden Samples", just the Golden's are bench tested, the others aren't. Send me a PM. Thx

I'm being cautious with OC, I think I have it at 215/490. I had my last Geforce 2 GTS clocked at 250/333, and while I didn't get artifacts, somehow it did a number on my monitor with some sort of glitch. I don't need to OC it high yet, but when the time comes, it does have potential. Gainwards tend to get hot on the core though, cause they use thermal tape. An Orange Orb should do them good.

The problem is with the Gainward Geforce3 Ti200 only (AFAIK). I'm returning mine to newegg for the regular gainward geforce3, since Gainward will not return my emails about the problem.
