gainward g3 ti 200 in WinXP reverts to 60Hz after quake3 UT ?

searched and didnt see any topics on this.

Running standard version 23.11 drivers -- no overclocking, in Windows XP pro.

about 1 in 3 times when i exit Urban Terror my eyes kill as I see a 60Hz screen. A quick control panel fix does the job, but I'm now wondering if maybe even quake3 is running in 60Hz.

any ideas ?
