Scroll down/search for "Gainward BLISS GeForce 7800 GS+'

it's this week only. Normal price is for £229.95 ($427.5)

Is it just me or does this seem like another equivalent of a 9800pro?

It's AGP. No other card comes close to this one in terms of specs.

It's a freakin 24 pipe card on AGP.

the X850 XTPE still beats it (though not in openGL, plus it lacks SM3)

but otherwise, X850 XT's can be found for pretty good prices in FS/FT

Are you kidding me? We're talking abotu a 7900gt on AGP vs a 850xtpe. You think the x850 beats this?

The card is also 512MB. This is more like a downclocked 7900GTX for AGP. This is not even comparable to the X850XT. Totally different league. $399 for a downclocked AGP 7900GTX ain't bad. There is nothing else comparable in AGP.

It says only 400 are being made. Of course, mabe someone else will make more and the price will come down. :) I'm hoping anyway, lol.

If you've got S754 you can buy a PCI-e motherboard for that. If you've got socket A, you shouldn't even be looking at a 7900GT.

But what if you've got a Socket 478 P4?

Correction, they made around 1000 and 400 are left.. I'm perfectly willing to wait for a newer video card that is more powerful, that isn't the issue, the issue for me is whether or not they will make one at all. My video card's performance is suffice for what it does, I don't need any more fancy eye candy or performance at the moment but I know that a few months or years down the road, I definately will.

For $399 you can get a 3800X2+ECSK8T890A for $199 and get a 7900GT for $250 or less.

Via chipset+ECS=Living hell. Thats not even worth it, who cares if it's cheap, if it's unreliable at all, it ain't worth it.

Gainward GS's have always been great/the best cards if you can get them at competitive prices

Have you used that setup? I'm guessing no. If you followed hardware much, you'd know ECS has been churning out some solid. cheap, overclockable boards. Also, just because it's Via doesn't mean it's unstable...but hey..if you want to live in 1999...more power to you.

Via + SIS will always equal garbage to me. I bought an Abit SG-72 motherboard for my cousin a few years ago, still unstable as fsck.. It's nforce or nothing..

"Few Years Ago"... nuff said.

Hardware is not static, and one bad hardware experience is statistically insignificant...

Two years ago is too recent for me. Anyways I wouldn't go from a system with a $200 motherboard to a practically free motherboard just so that I can be a cheap asshole.

My cousin has one- Gainward 7900GS+ Bliss. I can tell you it is no slouch. It blows every other AGP card out of the water. He gets over 17,000 3Dmarks on 03. I get over 18,000 and I'm running A8R32 MVP with FX-60 and ATI X1900XT. On 3Dmark 05 and 06 his scores do go down more compare to mines. Oblivion runs smooth as butter on high settings with this card.

The card is huge-same size as my X1900XT. It has a huge heatsink/fan and runs cool and quiet compare to my X1900XT. It comes with a power adapter that plugs into two 4-pin molex connectors. But he runs it with a PCI-E power plug. It's basically an overclocked 7900GT with 512mb of memory and 24 pipes.

I plan to go overthere this weekend and we're going to put his card into my old Asus P4c800-E Deluxe mobo with a 3.2ghz Extreme Edition P4. I will take pics and get screenshot of benchmarks. Stay tuned.
