GAIN Adware !HELP!

Alright I know a lot of people with this problem so hopefully someone can solve this for me...

When I search for things, GAIN Adware automatically opens an IE window with "their" search results. When I am looking at cars for sale, I get pop up windows in the bottom right hand corner for used car sites, again courtesy of GAIN. I have never installed anything GAIN on my computer, nor do I want it!! What do I do to remove this annoying problem?

Download "Ad-Aware" or "Spybot"

Both Freeware, and they will both get rid of it.


EDIT: First, see if there is an uninstaller in "Add/Remove Programs". (Sometimes, this spyware junk has an uninstaller, but not usually.)

Its good, but IMO spybot is better nowdays

spybot has LOTS more stuff built in. with adaware you have to pay to get the extra stuff

I`ve tried spybot and find it buggy,using SPYWAREBLASTER from here works great with ad-aware and I get a lot less spy/ad cookies then before,normally only one at most.

Btw you might like Spywareguard as well .

I recommend you install a Google Toolbar 2.0 Beta that built in with anti pop up,
http://toolbar.google.com/ it work great for me.. that it have been blocked over 450 pop up..

I use both Adaware and Spybot... Funny how each one misses the other catches.

Lately adaware has had more updates and can catch a few more things than spybot, but both programs together are still good to run.
