So i was chatting with someone on MSN earlier, and a friend asked me to invite him to join the conversation.

I tried to find a button or something (in gaim) to allow me to add my friend to the conversation, but couldn't find the button or anything....

So, is it supported in gaim? Or is there any plugins for that?

Also, if i were invited to a conference/chat, how do i make it create different rooms instead of everything using "MSN Chat"?

Thanks.

edit: clarification: i'm using gaim to connect with people using msn
(to avoid confusion)

you mean the big big first button with the "invite" below it in the chat window?

I am using version 1.2.1, which i assume is the latest.
and i don't see that big big button that says 'invite' at the chat window -(

At the bottom of the buddy list (covered by preferences in the SS) are:
IM / Get Info / Chat / Away

I even made sure that i have 'show invite button in chats' in my extended preference, but i can't see it, still....
Clicking on 'join a chat' will make me enter a chatroom to join, which is not what i was looking for ...

Don't feel sad, I am sure Trilly is happy to have you back. :D

Well, if i end up going back to trilly, i would miss some of the features in gaim such as figuring out who doesn't have my MSN as their buddy list (something quite fancy)

Also, i think i can 'silently' add people to YM, because a few of my friends didn't know i have them when i added them to my list. Not sure if it's a feature or a bug, though.

I used to use trilly (2.something), but i found version 3.x is too "heavy" for my taste.
I like the various available skins, though ...

Why did you do for??? If they are your friends you should let them know.

Why? actually, i don't know...
truth be told, i never actually bothered to keep looking whether someone has me on their list or not.
well, maybe once or twice, it's good to know whether they stopped contacting me because they dont have me on their list, or if they just don't want to talk to me ... i don't know ....

but anyways, i guess i can go give trilly another try... see if i'll like it again...
gaim is simple enough for me, and i kinda like it ....

i gave trillian a try for a while, but i can't seem to like it..
gaim seems to load faster and more responsive, uses less resources, and i still prefer some of the things i could do with gaim.

a few things that can make me go back to trillian:
- custom skins
- invite people to chat (which is probably missing from gaim)

well, those are basically the two for now.... but, i don't know...
i guess i'll stay with gaim for now, at least.
