OK so I love gAIM, it's simple, small, fast and ad free but recently it has been acting up on me pretty badly. I use the guifications plugin (among others) which seems to maybe be the source of the problem...
About once every few hours, whenever there is an event (buddy signs on, off, idle, away, anything that causes a guification to pop up) the entire gAIM program will freeze, sometimes for 15-20 seconds and sometimes for up to 2-3 minutes, but it always manages to come back. Any open AIM windows go white as well as the buddy list, I can't click anything or minimize or change any of the gAIM windows in any way.
Now I could just uninstall or deactivate the guifications plugin and see if that makes it go away, which I am almost certain it would, but having a popup for buddy events is one of the things I almost require in an AIM plugin...
Anyone have a solution for this? Or an alternative program that is as lightweight and user-friendly and plugin-happy as gAIM??
