Try this, create a note, then delete it, then watch how it never gets deleted from the OneNote files when you view your OneDrive online, it just keeps coming back like a virus! Even its basic functionality doesn't work man.

Works for me...

Removing placeholders from Win10 was a really dumb move. Severely reduces the utility of the service.

How the flipping heck (that was hard to write!) do you upload all your photos from a windows 10 PC?

This should be simple. I've got about 100GB of homevideos and pictures that I want to backup to onedrive.

They are on my G drive and will onedrive let me upload it? Will it bumpers (we need to get rid of the no swearing in these forums!).

I have to copy 100gb of stuff into my C:\Users\welshbloke\onedrive\pictures\pictures folder and upload them to onedrive from there.

Why cant I just upload them from where I store my photos? And if I can why doesnt Microsoft make it easier to do that?

Uh dude, there is a One Drive folder on your computer. Drag and drop your pictures in there, walk away for some hours while the entire 100GB uploads, and you're done. This has got to be the easiest thing to ever.

That doesn't just upload them.

It's copies all 100gb to my C: drive then uploads them.

yea, i am a step away from running win7 in a VM as (i presume/pray) that it will work as i remember it to?

am i right in thinking there's no way in getting that functionality back when running win 10 though? placeholders?

There is a hack that sort of works, you basically net map the folder to a drive letter, I don't like it though. It is kind of clunky compared to the placeholders.

first search came up with this link:
http://club.myce.com/f186/how-map-onedrive-network-drive-letter-337440/

Supposedly some replacement for placeholders will arrive next year.

tried that before and it worked but for some reason was *incredibly* slow. just showing folder lists took several minutes.

away for xmas to will try the win7 in a VM method and see how it goes.

why do companies have to update their software and remove features at the same damn time!? 🙁
