This is a FRIGGIN RANT.

Running a 6GB drive (it's the only drive I have not currently being used)...

Installed WinXP Pro (uninstalled everything I don't need that I could find to uninstall)
Installed video drivers
Installed audio drivers

Finally downloading HL2...

Space Required: 3496MB
Space Available: 3478MB

NOOOOOOOO!!!!!

Haha pwnt, you can alway slim up xp though, there were some posts on slashdot a while back about minimizing windows. They got win95 down to a few megs, I think xp pro was down to a few hundred

Did you install only the audigy 2 drivers or the software too? (i.e. do you have the audigy 2 CD)

He said that was the only drive he had that wasnt IN USE. I assume his other HDs run linux or are in a server, etc.

I installed some of the speaker config/diagnostic programs to make sure my 5.1s are working properly.

I just dumped a whole bunch of folders on the HDD. :Q Hopefully windows will boot when I reboot

:p

Bingo. I've got several hundred gigs at my disposal, but the drives are all currently being used.

I know, but 6 GB is still small non-the-less for a system drive, and that was my point. Sorry I didn't clarify.

Thanks, DOSfan. :) I ended up hosing my server's 80gig drive. I didn't have anywhere to back up my ~30gigs of music, but I did get a lot of... err, other random 1's and 0's. Oh well. *shrug*
